Recycling Centre

Please note that the Recycling Centre at 3 Wither Road, opposite the Transfer Station, is temporarily closed due to the fire that occurred in November 2025. Rebuilding the centre will take some time.

In the meantime, we have temporary recycling bins available on-site for public use. Occasionally, we may need to close the gates to allow trucks to safely access and service these bins. We appreciate your patience when this occurs.

We also have a temporary processing site in the industrial area, where all of Marlborough’s recycling will be handled until the main facility is fully restored and operating again.

What materials can be accepted at the Recycling Centre?

The Recycling Centre can accept a range of materials including:

Fibre – cardboard, paper, newspaper, and glossies
Cans – steel and alloy
Glass containers and bottles – clear, green, and brown
Plastics – 1, 2 and 5
Soft plastics (collection points outside the Dump Shop)
Food and Beverage containers (collection points outside the Dump Shop).

Please note we do not accept polystyrene at the Recycling Centre

Fees

Domestic recycling can be disposed of free of charge. Fees for commercial recycling services are detailed below.
