Parking fees and locations - Blenheim

Blenheim CBD Parking

Marlborough District Council administer more than 1,700 public car parks in Blenheim. Metered car parks use the Pay By Plate ticketless parking system and PayMyPark phone app. Pay By Plate and PayMyPark use your vehicle licence plate number to record your parking start time and payment.

Blenheim metered car parks are grouped by ‘zone’, and each zone has a unique time limit and tariff. Therefore, it is important to ensure you use the correct meter for the zone your vehicle is parked in to avoid an infringement, including starting a new session if you move between zones.

Monday to Friday: Payment is required from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm in all metered car parks; (free outside these hours).

Saturday: Payment is required 9.30 am - 1.00 pm in all kerbside metered car parks.
Off street car parks are free (including the Alfred Street car park building).

Sunday and Public Holidays: Free parking.

‘First Hour Free’ Parking

First Hour Free parking is available in metered MDC car parks in both the Blenheim and Picton CBD.

Please note: To claim First Hour Free, you must activate a Pay by Plate meter by entering your car registration at the start of your parking session. Follow the prompts on the terminal screen until you see “Transaction Completed”. First Hour Free can also be activated via the PayMyPark App.

EV Charging in the Blenheim CBD

The Marlborough District Council Wynen Street car park is home to a public EV charging hub, delivered in partnership with Marlborough District Council and Hikotron.

The site features four 22kW AC charging points, providing convenient charging access for residents, visitors, and local businesses in central Blenheim. Drivers can easily top up their vehicles while shopping, dining, attending appointments, or spending time in the town centre.

The chargers form part of Hikotron’s growing nationwide EV charging network and can be activated using the Hikotron mobile app or contactless payment, making charging simple, accessible, and convenient for EV drivers.
