Animal Control

Animal Control has the function of administering the Dog Control Act 1996 and Chapter 4 Dog Control of the Marlborough District Council (MDC) Bylaw.

This primarily involves dealing with complaints about dog nuisances and attacks and ensuring that all dogs are correctly registered. There is also a strong education focus. Currently, Marlborough has over 10,000 registered dogs, the majority of which are non-working dogs.

Animal Control operates a 24/7 callout service and can be contacted at any time on the above telephone number.

The office hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

During dog registration Animal control is open on Saturday mornings from 9.00 am to 12 noon from 15 June to 07 July 2019.
